ARSL is short for the Association for Rural & Small Libraries. Development is attributed to Dr. Bernard Vavrek, in his tenure at Clarion University as Director of the Center for Rural Studies and was formed in recognition of the unique needs, challenges, and strengths that rural and small libraries possess. It is a now a network of people dedicated to the positive growth of rural and small libraries and a collection of resources relevant to member needs.
