The Norwalk Easter Public Library Board of Trustees is seeking an experienced, collaborative, innovative, dedicated leader to serve as Library Director. Norwalk Easter Public Library is a forward-thinking organization that enjoys great community support. The City of Norwalk is part of a fast-growing community with an estimated population of 11,500. We are located close to the Des Moines Airport, Downtown Des Moines and the Jordan Creek area of West Des Moines. Despite the closeness to the large metro, the City of Norwalk maintains a close-knit small town feel.
Under the direction of the Library Board of Trustees, the Library Director monitors, coordinates, and supervises the operation of the library. The Library Director is responsible for library planning, policies, procedures, budget, personnel, and representing the library within the community. The Library Director reports to a 7-member Board of Trustees and manages the library facility, a staff of 13 people (3 FT; 10 PT), the library finances, and all aspects of operations.

A Master’s degree in Library Science/Library Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution is required. Five years’ experience in public library work and three years supervisory experience in libraries. Candidates subject to pre-employment background check.
