We are pleased to present author Elizabeth Berg as one of our keynote speakers for ARSL conference 2018 in Springfield. Berg is the author of many bestselling novels including her most recent work, The Story of Arthur Trueluv. Some of her other books include the Oprah’s book club choice Open House, Talk Before Sleep, and The Pull of the Moon, which Berg adapted into a play that enjoyed sold-out performances in Chicago and Indianapolis. Her books Durable Goods and Joy School were selected as ALA Best Books of the Year. Three of Berg’s books have been made into television movies, and her work is widely translated. Berg is the founder of Writing Matters, which gives mid-list authors a chance to showcase their work. Berg funds the initial cost of the program herself. Net profits of the event go to Magic Tree Bookstore, which benefits the Hephzibah Children’s Association. Berg also teaches one day writing workshops. She lives outside Chicago. If you are not familiar with Berg’s work, take the time to read one of her charming books before the conference. Books will be available to purchase at the conference site or you are welcome to bring your own for signing.
